Our flagship product, Haven, is a collaborative online web development environment intended to allow it users to work on their web projects without having to have anything installed on their machine. We know that’s a really tall order so we’re tackling the project in chunks.
When we release Haven to the public, users will be able to operate on files via FTP or SFTP. We intend to have integration with source control providers like Subversion, Git and Mercurial sometime thereafter. Here’s a list of things that Haven will be able to do for you.
- Create or import projects to/from FTP/SFTP
- Open and save files via FTP/SFTP
- Publish a project via FTP/SFTP to a production location
- Syntax Highlighting
- Ruby on Rails
- HTML, CSS, RJS, and eRuby could be there as well. If not be assured that they’ll come shortly.
We have a much more grandiose vision for Haven but in order to start somewhere we needed to widdle the feature list down to some manageable tasks. We also needed it to be usable for ourselves and this list of features solved most of our immediate needs.
